Privacy Policy

1. Information We Process (Client-Side Only)
When you click "Start Live GPS Speedometer", your browser requests permission to access the HTML5 Geolocation API. If granted, your device's operating system passes ephemeral latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and heading coordinates directly to our client-side JavaScript engine. These values are used solely to animate the dial and compute trip metrics in real time. When you close the tab or stop the tracker, this data is immediately purged from RAM.
2. Cookies, Local Storage & Third-Party Advertising
We utilize browser localStorage to remember your ergonomic preferences across sessions (such as preferred speed unit: km/h vs. MPH, dial themes, and sound alarm thresholds). These local settings contain zero personal identifiers.
To maintain our speedometer service free of charge, we partner with third-party advertising platforms, including Google AdSense. These advertising partners may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and IP-derived geolocation signals to serve contextual and interest-based advertisements.
3. Google AdSense & DoubleClick Advertising Cookies
Google is a third-party vendor on our website. Google uses cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads to our site visitors based on their visit to LiveSpeedometerOnline.com and other websites across the Internet:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance Consumer Choice Portal (AboutAds.info) or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at Your Online Choices.
4. European Economic Area (EEA) & UK GDPR Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), visitors located in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom are entitled to specific data subject rights regarding their personal data:
- Right of Access & Rectification: You have the right to request copies of any personal data we hold or request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You may request the deletion of your data where applicable. (Note: Since we store no location data, there is no GPS data to erase).
- Right to Restrict or Object to Processing: You may object to the processing of your data for personalized advertising via our Cookie Consent Banner or browser settings.
- Supervisory Authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national Data Protection Authority (such as the ICO in the UK or the CNIL in France).
5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents are afforded unique privacy disclosures:
- No Sale of Personal Information: We do not sell your personal data or GPS coordinates to data brokers or third parties.
- Right to Know & Delete: You have the right to request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and request deletion.
- Non-Discrimination: We will never discriminate against any user for exercising their statutory privacy rights.
